Free Legal Music from the Internet

The internet in the last couple of years has become a one stop shop for music lovers, where you can download all your favourite songs right onto your computer or mp3 player in seconds. Whilst most websites will charge you for this, there are some great websites to get all the music you want for free (and most importantly legally)

Music on the internet comes in 2 forms - an audio download which produces a copy of a music file onto your computer, or streaming audio which is a one way audio broadcast from a website to your computer, unlike a download streamling audio is not permanently stored on your computer.

Free streaming audio and music video websites

Pandora.com - At pandora you just need to type in a band name, artist name or song title it will play it and them play other bands that are similar to it, this is a great way to discover new music, its completely free to use but it will ask you for some personal details to continue using it after about 5 songs.

Music.yahoo.com - As long at you are a free member of Yahoo you can watch all the latest music viedoe that have been released.

Uk.real.com - Watch streamling, music and tv from around the world.

Myspace.com - Virtually every band in exsistence has a myspace page, with their new realeases for you too listen too, most justhave them as streamling audio, and some bands have their songs as downloads.

Youtube.com - Practically every song video in exsistence is on here.

Windows Media Player - If you have windows media player (you can download it for free click the link on the left) it has a radio section where you can play virutally any radio station in the world on you computer for free.

Music download websites

Most music download websites charge you per download, but if you take advantage of their introductory free trials it is possible to get a few weeks of downloads for free.

Napster.com - Offer a 7 day free trial to test out the website and download what ever you like from a database of 3 million songs.

Emusic.com - Emusic is an independant music library with over 1.5 million tunes to download, you get the first 25 downloads for free.

Audible.co.uk - Audible has over13′000 audio magazines, newspapers and radio shows to download,you get the first 2 free.

MTV - have a free downloads section with some great music to download.
