Getting the best shopping deals

The internet has helped to drive down the cost of shopping in the Uk, so it is easy to become lazy and just go to your favourite shopping websites because they are probably cheap anyway.

But the fact of the matter is that if you spend a little bit of time, another 5-10 minutes you can probably shave some more money of the cost of your purchase.

Comparison Shopping

The first thing to do is visit a comparison shopping website; Kelkoo, Shopping.com and Pricerunner are the main three. Comparison shopping websites compare the price of a product you search for with all the shops that sell it on their system. It will give you a true and accurate comparison of prices so you can see who is selling it cheapest.

It’s worth noting that comparison shopping websites are commercial businesses too. They make their money because shops pay to be listed on their site. So not all shops will be listed so you maybe able to get your product even cheaper somewhere else. But they are a good starting point to see whats what.

It’s also worth checking out what the delivery price is for each shop, this can be a real deal breaker, some shops give free delivery, some shops charge a flat rate per sale and some shops charge by weight.

Cashback Shopping

There is a big article on Peazyshop about cashback shopping which you can read by clicking here. Cashback shopping works best if you are a regular online shopper as you need to be a member of a cashback shopping website and the minimum payout they give is usually £20 so you need to make a few online purchases to have enough in your account to cashout.

But cashback shopping can give you anything from 1%-30% off online purchases, read more about it here.

Cashback website have been flourishing in recent years with new ones opening every day, my only advice would be to stick with one of the more established like Freefivers of Greasypalm.

I have seen some of the new ones come and go once the people who have set them up realise just how much time and effort they are to run and close them down, possibly your cashback commission with them!

Something quite nice that cashback site offer is Daily Clicks. Simply these are advertising websites they are

affiliated with that allow the cashback members to visit each day and click the ad links, which you get paid for.

The amount is not very much but if you do it every day it can add up. Read the peazyshop cashback article for more information.

Another thing that most cashback sites offer is your own referral link. Basically if you sign up a new member to the cashback site with your referral link you will be paid some money when they start using the website. This could be quite a profitable little venture, if you use forums why not stick the referral link in your signature or on your email signature and then you can start making money without even having to do anything.

The peazyshop forum has a referral links section where you can swap referral links with other forum members.

Discount Codes

More and more online shops are now realising that people like discounts, so if you ever see a form at the checkout thats says- enter your promotional code here. Then there is probably a discount code floating about on the internet. It could be for money off or free delivery or a free gift, so it is worth doing your homework first.

Try Discounttart.co.uk it has lots and lots of all the latest discount codes for hundreds of online shops. And is updated frequently.

Newsletters

If you are not in a hurry for a bargain then sign up to your favourite shopping websites email newsletters. Newsletters are one of the first places that shopping website release there discounts and bargains. I have had loads on discount codes from newsletters.

And some online shops have dedicated clearance/bargain sections where they put last seasons stock to make way for new stock.
