How to get a free meal, gold and diamond bangle, or even a free holiday from Tesco
When you shop at Tesco stores, if you sign up for a clubcard, then Tesco will give you points when you shop. Usually this is 1 point for every £1 you spend, and 1 point is worth just a single penny. However, there are ways to increase how many points you get every year, and also ways to make each point worth 4p here’s how to do it:
Quite obviously, the first thing to do is make sure that you get all the points you can. You can make sure that you are joined to all their different ‘clubs’. As a member of each club you’ll be sent a mailing regularly, and in each mailing there are normally coupons offering extra points on certain products, these will vary a lot, but can be things like 25 extra points when you spend £2 or more on dairy products, or 100 points when you buy any bottle of Australian wine. There are 4 different exclusive clubs that you can join, they are: Food Club, Baby & Toddler Club, Wine Club, Healthy Living Club and you can find out about all of them at the Tesco website here http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/clubcard/clubs/ You will also get given till spit points coupons occasionally when you shop, so look out for those too, and don’t forget to do your bit for the environment by using your own shopping bags, and getting Green Clubcard points too. You get 1 point for every carrier bag you don’t use.
Don’t forget that as well as getting points at Tesco supermarkets, you can also collect them in other places too. Their Petrol stations, online at www.tesco.com and also they have some partners who offer you points as well. These are people like, Powergen, Avis, Marriot hotels, and the nutri centre. There is a full list of them on the Tesco website here: http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/clubcard/partners/
Ok, so now hopefully you’re getting lots of extra points coupons to use in store on your shopping, and making the most of your Tesco clubcard in other places too. Next thing to do is to convert that 1p per point into 4p per point. Tesco clubcards don’t JUST have to be spent on your shopping bill, Tesco have linked up with loads of other places and created ‘deals vouchers’ when you convert your points to deals vouchers, each point is worth 4x as much so you can convert £50 into £200, or £500 into £2000! Basically what you do is to browse the Tesco website, or ask to be sent a deals voucher booklet, and decide what you want to spend your money on. It could be a Meal in Planet Hollywood, a nice piece of jewellery from Goldsmiths the Jewellers, or even a holiday with one of the many travel agents who are linked to Tesco deals. Then you request to convert the regular Tesco vouchers to Deals vouchers for the place you wish to spend them, and send them off. When you receive your deals vouchers, you go and spend them!
Here is an example of how you might quite easily as a family earn enough points in a year to get a free holiday.
£50 shopping per week = 2600 points
£35 per month with Powergen = 420 points
£50 drycleaning with Johnsons = 50 points
£110 at the Nutricentre = 110 points
£35 per month on a Tesco mobile phone = 420
£200 per month spent on anything other than at Tesco on your Tesco credit card = 600 points
Plus you might get a further 5000 points during the year from extra vouchers in your clubcard and other Tesco club mailings for example.
Using the above as a guide, you might earn 9200 points. Worth in regular Tesco clubcard vouchers £92 Converted into deals vouchers, these would be worth £368 Over 2 years, that would be £736 which is plenty for a short holiday somewhere. Of course if you spend more on your gas and electric, or your shopping that figure would be larger too, and also we’ve not taken into account any of the special deals that Tesco often do in store, or online.
