Making money online from - Paid to click (PTC)

PTC means Paid to Click (also sometimes called PTR Paid to Read) – this is a particular type of site where you get asked to click a link (either on their site or sent to you in an e-mail), and sometimes do a search. You then earn a penny, or a cent, or a fraction of a penny or cent for every one of these you do. It sounds like a very small amount to earn, but if you do 10-25 of these in a day for a site, it can add up. Also obviously, the more different sites you do, the more you can earn. Clicks done with PTC sites are never going to earn you a living, but they can earn a reasonable amount of pocket money. The sort of thing you can put towards Christmas, or a holiday.

There are LOTS of PTC sites out there, and some are good, and others not so good. One thing I would personally look for is something that’s not offering unsustainable amounts of money, and that doesn’t ask you to wait till you have a huge amount in your account before you cash out. I like the American based sites that pay between ¼ of a cent and 2 cents per click, and for the UK based ones that offer between ¼ of a penny and 2p per click. I also avoid anything that wants me to have more than $10 (£5ish) in my account before I cash out. These seem reasonable amounts to me, but expecting me to wait till I have $25 seems a bit too high risk for me.

One site I would recommend you bookmark is this one: http://www.gptboycott.com/
Basically here they keep an eye on all the PTC sites that come on to the market, and list those which don’t pay out, or where people have problems with them. If you look on the left of the main page, it lists all the sites that people have had problems being paid by in their ‘boycott list’. All the sites I’ve listed here however, are ones which I know pay out as I’ve received payments from them, but, as there are so many, and I don’t know all of them by any means, I thought I’d mention this site so that you can check any others that you find before you decide whether to join them or not.

Most of these sites let you refer your friends to them and earn a little bit more. Some like Adbux (listed below) only have one referral level, but pay a much higher amount for every click your referral does. Others like Archerfish (also listed below) have several different levels of referral, so that it’s a tiered system with your direct referrals earning you the most, and then the people they refer earning you a little too, and so on down the line. All the sites below pay using paypal, although some of them offer other methods of payout too like amazon vouchers or e-gold. Most of these sites are American based, although there are a couple of English ones here as well. However, ALL of these sites are happy to accept UK members, and with paypal, it’s very easy to convert your money within the paypal system from US $ to UK £.

I’ve mentioned ‘active membership’ on only a couple of these sites, but the same thing applies to a lot of them. Basically active membership means people who when sent a link to a search site, make a search on that site. You will find that if you do some searches at least, you are more likely to be sent larger numbers of e-mails holding links, thereby increasing your earning potential.
