By Bus- Travelling by bus may not be the most luxurious way to travel, but it can work out to be the cheapest form of transport.

Intercity Bus Travel- If you are a student or over 60 you should take advantage of the discount travel cards offered by National Express. Anyone over 60 can get half price travel on national express, while students can get 30% off bus travel with a ‘Young Persons Coach Card’ which costs £10 for a year.

Megabus offers ultra cheap travel throughout the Uk, from practically every major Uk city now, don’t be put off by the cheap image it has it is actually part of the Stagecoach group.Like many travel providers the earlier you book your journey the cheaper it is. For instance I once travelled from Glasgow to Manchester for £1 so it’s worth having a visit.Innercity Bus Travel- Stagecoach offer a unirider bus ticket for 16 Uk Cities. If you are a student studying at one of the Universities listed then you are eligible.

Example- A 10 week unirider pass for Glasgow works out at £60 that works out at 86p per day for unlimited travel.

First Bus also offer a similar scheme, but is more expensive working out at £2.55 per day for students.

By Rail - even finding a rail ticket can hurt your head there are so many combinations of different ticket prices and offers.
